I’m so excited on the 3rd June I will be starting my Appalachian Trail thru-hike. Which I plan to do in 100 days.
The 100 days came about as I wouldn’t have been able to take 5 or 6 months off to do the trail (which is the average time most people take). I’m starting my Masters in October, so knew I had to finish in September, my birthday is on the 10th (not a massive fan, to be honest, I hate it) but I wanted to change that, and felt that if I can finish the trail on my birthday, then it's more about completing the challenge. I then worked backwards to get my start date - 3rd June!
What I want to do, is to get all of you involved with you doing your own personal 100 day challenge. So you can also start your challenge with me on the 3rd June and finish on the 10th September.
I want these 100 days to be super fun, and for you to try something new, or to really commit to developing a new habit. There are just 2 rules I want you to follow.
1. It has to be personal to you.
This is not about comparing your challenge to others, this is about what you want to do, and what you can fit into your life and lifestyle.
2. It has to be positive, it has to add value to you.
What I mean by that, is it’s not about giving up chocolate or denying yourself e.g. not drinking coffee for 100 days. It’s about focusing on a positive habit, e.g. eating one piece of fruit a day, or drinking just water for 100 days.
I would love for everyone to be involved and I want you to really think about what you want to do, what you want to achieve, so that you will be ready to share your goal for the 100 days.
Some ideas….
Read 10 pages of a book
Meditate for 10 mins a day
Walk 10,000 steps
Journal everyday
Write down 3 thing you are grateful for
Take a picture that makes you happy
Remove one piece of clutter from your house
Do one random act of kindness every day
Watch Ted Talks
Listen to a new podcast
Run 1 mile every day
The list is truly endless, and I can’t wait to see what your ideas are!!
So start thinking now about what you want to do for 100 days!!!
The challenge will kick off on the 3rd June - when I start the Appalachian Trail.
I hope you’ll join me on this 100 day challenge.
NOW is the time to get involved, now is the time to start thinking about what is going to make a real difference in your life.
